Show Notes for BTST-Interview-01
Hello and Welcome, I’m your host, the ubiquitous bard, Baba the Storyteller. Many of you who are loyal listeners might notice that I’m breaking a bit with our typical format. Allow me to explain. Every once in a while I will cross paths with some very intriguing people whose work and purpose resonate deeply with me and I would prefer to share with all of you sooner, rather than later. We’ll maintain our regular publishing of episodes on the 1st and 15th of each month, but when something such as this interview occur I would rather not wait to get it out to all of you.
The following interview occurred October 18, 2007 at 9:00am in one of the theaters of the Orange County Performing Arts Center. I want to take a moment and thank the entire education staff of the Center for making this discussion possible. The person being interviewed is Mr. Mitchell Korn, a leading arts education proponent and innovator who has been credited with returning arts education to many of America’s great urban centers. He has been widely praised in the media having appeared on CNN, the front page of the New York Times, in numerous NY Times editorials and in articles in The Wall Street Journal, which called him America’s “one man arts education industry.” In this interview, Mr. Korn discusses his view on The Art and Craft of the Storyteller.
