Music Marketplace

Traditional marketplaces helped to contributed to the social and economic growth of many societies. In outdoor marketplaces people would gather to exchange ideas and information. Those unable to travel to the market relied on friends and relatives to return home and share what they heard and seen.

This Music Marketplace is no different from those in the past. Listen to the samples of songs and tell friends of the unique music you’ve discovered. Make contact with the artist and give your input. The Music Marketplace will grow as more traditional music of the Kora is introduced. Below is a sample track from Baba’s new album of Acoustic Kora Music.

The CD, “Ancestral Strings Acoustic Kora” is Baba’s first recording of instrumental acoustic Kora music. All of the songs were learned during Baba’s travels throughout the West African countries of Mali, Senegal, Guinea, and The Gambia.
