Kwanzaa Program

The African-American Cultural Celebration of Kwanzaa was conceived by Dr. Maulana Karenga and first held in the City of Los Angeles, 1966. The holiday is a synthesis of Continental African worldviews and concepts associated with harvest festivals and their traditional relationship with Africans throughout the world.
